This is regarding an install on a 2012 Forester. I had big expectations on this head unit. It was easy enough to install. No instructions on the head unit but many YouTube videos out there. What disappointed me the most is the fact that I lost my rear speakers. Customer service wasn’t too helpful either. This is a quote from them: “This car audio system has a limitation when it comes to equalizer settings. Since the amplifier only requires two channels for audio output, the four lines of head unit dynamics also use only two channels. As a result, the left and right rear speakers cannot be adjusted independently in the equalizer sound field, limiting the customization options for the sound system.” My issue wasn’t left or right balance settings, it was that the rear speakers were not working at all. For the amount I paid to have it imported to Canada and the weak Canadian dollar currently, this plug and play unit has got me very upset. I had to dig through many YouTube videos to research this and I think I know a work around the issue but I’ll try that later. It’s currently Chinese new years there so they put me on hold…
After many hours researching i took the plunge and ordered direct from Idoing. Couldn't be happier. Great service to start then delivered to Sydney in 6 days. Super easy to install and i am amazed how much better the sound is! I got the 8gig with standard screen and it is super clear and responsive.
I love the stereo and am very happy I bought it but I cant seem to find any user instructions with it and the Idoing info that it came with was a QR code to asain based youtube videos about set up that I couldnt seem to help me get all the way. But other than that I really like it and the fact I can stream video while driving and the wireless apple carplay and shipping was fast too. Great unit dont buy a knock off.
